Udhayashankar G
Udhay Shankar is a media technology specialist and innovation-driven product thinker with over 15 years of experience in building scalable, tech-integrated workflows. His early exposure to creative industries shaped his systems-first mindset, enabling him to design processes that deliver efficiency, reliability, and measurable business value.
In 2011–12, Udhay pioneered the use of UAVs for industrial monitoring, developing a drone-mounted camera system for Michelin to capture time-lapse visuals across a 300-acre site. This early innovation demonstrated the potential of autonomous visual documentation and laid the groundwork for large-scale process transparency.
His portfolio of solutions reflects a commitment to precision and problem-solving — from solar-powered automated camera systems that ran continuously for four years, to memory-based IoT lighting systems designed for high-intensity production environments. At Gumchak, he further advanced efficiency by introducing AI-powered subtitling, semi-automated post-production workflows, and environment profiling systems.
Currently serving as Innovation Lead at Prasad Corporation, Udhay has launched new revenue-generating verticals by transforming manual media censoring into a scalable service powered by hybrid AI automation (ChatGPT + Whisper) and high-speed QC frameworks. Passionate about digital transformation in content, heritage, and media-tech industries, he continues to design modular, resilient systems that unlock scale, reduce manual effort, and ensure consistent quality in high-volume pipelines.
